Press Release: Ministry of Education Launches SCG's Read Play Love Campaign

PRESS RELEASE - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Guyana Commits to Improving Literacy Rate Nationwide with Launch of “Read Play Love" Campaign

(GECEP) said, “We were pleased so many of our nation’s leaders and heroes turned out to lend their support to this campaign.”

The “Read. Play. Love.” campaign targets parents and caregivers of children under 5 primarily in the most remote administrative regions of the nation. While a national initiative, particular focus and attention was placed on the Amerindian communities in the Hinterland and Riverine regions.

MOE seeks to raise the literacy rates in the Hinterland and Riverine regions to be in-line with the national average of 88.5%. While Guyana’s literacy rate hovers above the global average of 86% as reported by UNESCO, it is lagging significantly behind its caribbean neighbors whom have achieved close to 99% national literacy.

The GECEP and “Read. Play. Love.” Campaign seeks to improve literacy outcomes by encouraging parents and caregivers of children under 5 to start modelling pro-educational behaviours for their children at home.  Recent studies from Harvard Educational Review show:

  • Children are ready to learn earlier than we thought

  • Children learn best through play

  • A loving parent/caregiver is child’s first and best teacher

Ministry of Education’s “Read. Play. Love.” Campaign was made possible through funding from the Global Partnership for Education, with oversight from the World Bank. SCG Creative was the winning agency responsible for producing the mass media campaign.

The launch of the “Read. Play. Love.” Campaign has been set for Wednesday, September 14, 2016.  The Ministry believes that the national audience should share in, and benefit from this valuable campaign message. More information on the campaign is available at: readplaylove.gy

Introducing BialousLaw.com

Todd Bialous, founder and principal of Bialous Law, came to SCG Creative because his law firm's digital presence did not match its physical, offline brand.

We created a strategy to reposition Bialous Law as the anti-lawyer. Our designers crafted a visual identity and website that spoke to the law firm's values of compassion, personalized interactions, transparency in communication and of setting things right. At the forefront of this new website design is the "Listen • Explain • Restore" process that every client can expect with their Bialous Law experience.

For this project we designed and developed the website, created a visual identity and produced a photo/video shoot.

See the website design at bialouslaw.com. Check back for an update on the videoshoot!

A Brand New Brand in Just 3 Weeks - Post Acute Recovery Launch

Need a brand and a website built within 3 weeks? Come to SCG Creative - because we just did that.

Post Acute Recovery (PAR) is a transformative, innovative behavioral healthcare network dedicated to a unique mission – helping individuals in recovery maintain their life in the real world as they rebuild healthy, self-directed lives.

The PAR cofounders recognized that something is missing in the existing continuum of care – an established network to manage addiction recovery for individuals striving to function and succeed in the real world. The PAR team made it their mission to improve the experiences of all those touched by the behavioral healthcare system - from clinicians to healthcare providers. They provide the most advanced resources to enable behavioral healthcare clinicians to do what they do best – provide dedicated care for individuals in recovery. The PAR Outpatient Network provides high standards of care, full support for providers and benefits for industry partners.

The SCG team worked hand-in-hand with the PAR team to collaborate and build up a brand that reflected their innovative voice within the healthcare industry. After a three week sprint, we delivered a logo design, visual identity, tagline, messaging, website, social media platforms, business cards and stationary.

Dr. Contreras Website Launch

Dr. Contreras is more than a cardiologist. She is a friend, confidant, motivator, community leader and role model.

Her work spans into preventative care, community outreach, scholarly publications and television appearances. As the scope of her cardiovascular work was expanding, she recognized the need for creating a personal brand and a digital presence.

We worked with Dr. Contreras to create a professional website that expressed her vision for uplifting cardiovascular health, especially among hispanic communities. This one-page landing page is easy to navigate, highlights her unique skills and is a reflection of her vibrant personality.

Bovina Valley Farms Brand Launch!

We are so excited to share our latest brand build of one of the most delicious projects we have worked on. Nestled at the foot of the picturesque Catskills Mountains in upstate New York, Bovina Valley Farms is a family-owned farm dedicated to good food, good practices and good people. Bovina Valley Farms is a sustainable producer of handmade, artisanal organic cheese, meats and maple syrup.

Starting with a deep dive into industry and competitive research, SCG Creative formulated a roadmap to help Bovina Valley Farms find its voice, reach new customers and expand its market reach. We crafted the farm's brand voice, value propositions and unique selling points which ultimately culminated in the tagline "An Upstate of Mind."

Repositioning Bovina Valley Farms to appeal to high end chefs and consumers who value ethical farming practices, we built a visual identity that pays homage to traditional small family farms in a modern style. We created a robust e-commerce website and revitalized the packaging design of the products.

Press Release: SCG wins global RFP for Guyana's Ministry of Education Mass Media Literacy & Numeracy Campaign

March 14, 2016

Ministry of Education Guyana selects SCG Creative
for Mass Media Literacy and Numeracy Campaign

New York - The Ministry of Education Guyana has concluded a lengthy search for a mass media agency to partner with on an upcoming national Literacy and Numeracy Campaign to promote Early Childhood Education. The awarded agency is New York based SCG Creative led by partners Rahul Siddharth and Aruna Naimji. The campaign efforts are designed to reach parents and caregivers of children under the age of five and help give them the best start at school. Regions 1, 7, 8, and 9 in the Guyanese Hinterland as well as targeted remote riverine communities are home to a majority of the country’s Indigenous population. These groups will benefit from programs designed to improve literacy and numeracy outcomes for children in these most remote and challenging areas.

This project will include participants include the First Lady, Mrs. Sandra Granger and Vice-President Sydney Allycock as well as prominent cricket players.

This is a collaborative project between the Government of Guyana and the Global Partnership for Education, with fiduciary oversight from the World Bank. The four components of this project total $1.7MM USD and are expected to be deployed over the course of three years.

SCG Creative specializes in strategy, marketing, and development solutions for corporations, NGOs and governmental organizations.

"We are excited for a successful marriage of our technical expertise in ECD with the creative vision, insight, and sound execution of the SCG team. We look forward to a productive implementation of this aspect of the project and the initiative as a whole,” said Quenita Walrond MA, Nursery Technical Coordinator of the Ministry of Education.

Aruna Naimji, Creative Director of SCG notes, “Education has been central to SCG and aligned with our mission as a consultancy to work on social impact projects specifically targeting underserved and underrepresented communities.”

“We love the desire and motivation the MOE has to develop and support Early Childhood Education efforts across Guyana. We are honored to have been the selected agency and are looking forward to participating in the transformation and renaissance of Guyana,” said SCG Managing Director, Rahul Siddharth.

This ambitious project has garnered full interest and support from members of both the Government of Guyana and the opposition party, Ministers of Education, and most importantly from the Toshaos and Captains of the Indigenous Communities. MOE along with GPE, WB, and SCG together plan to create a robust environment for the country to see a sharp upward shift of its literacy rate from 88.5% in the next five years.
